About us Managing risks

Managing risks

The International Standards that we apply to all our work use is the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and risk-based thinking. Using this approach ensures that we can see opportunities for improvement as soon as they arise and act on them quickly, keeping our work consistently at the highest standard possible.

Risk-based thinking means that we can pinpoint factors that could cause our processes and quality management systems to differ from the intended results. Using risk-based thinking to put in place preventive controls to minimize negative effects and to make maximum use of opportunities as they arise.

Managing risks is a key part of operating in the construction industry. We ensure the design and construction process is planned and controlled for all projects undertaken by the company using technical procedures for critical tasks.

Tools we use to manage risks and ensure quality include:

  • SWMS
  • Technical Procedures
  • Work Instructions
  • Job Safety Analysis and
  • Verification Checklists

We have a systematic management of projects, from tender, design, documentation, construction, completion through to project close-out and handover.
To assist in managing the company’s compliance with the WHS Act, Harvey Developments employs a qualified Compliance Manager.
