ALI CURUNG MODIFICATIONS TO HOUSES – ROOM TO BREATHE PROGRAM

The Ali Curung Housing Upgrades project is part of the Room To Breathe initiative by the Northern Territory Government to improve the living spaces in existing public housing buildings. We worked with the Housing Department to upgrade a number of houses around the community of Ali Curung, freshening up the interior and exterior paint, renovating bathrooms and kitchens, adding new communal spaces for families to enjoy.
The site of the Works are Lots 76, 88, 112, 127, 133, 151, 216, 218, 220, 224, 236, 241 and 245 in the community of Ali Curung in the Northern Territory.
We carried out these works in accordance with the nominated design drawings, additional scope of works, schedules and specifications provided with the contract.
The works included the certification of structures built as described in the contract, inclusive of “As Constructed” drawings, and final certificates as described.
BACKGROUND:
The $1.1 billion Remote Housing Program, ‘Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes’ is an initiative of the Northern Territory Government to address remote housing issues across the Territory for ten years from 2017 – 2027. The Department’s Room to Breathe Program is part of the overall Remote Housing Program, aimed at reducing the pressures of overcrowding.
Funding of $200 million has been allocated to the Room to Breathe Program over 10 years to increase living space in existing homes and reduce the pressures of overcrowding.
