At Harvey Developments, we base ourselves in the communities where we work and our employees are local to those places. It is therefore in our best interest to build strong and healthy communities.
Through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, we have been involved in a number of sponsored community development projects.
We have upgraded sports facilities for free and covered the cost of freight for the Sports Carnival in Santa Teresa while our workforce was on site. We have constructed two — half basketball courts in Yuendumu at reduced price for the benefits of the youth in the community. We are greatly honoured to sponsor or give back the community that would benefits the YOUTH within the community through our CSR initiatives. Tennant Creek and Barkly are our principal place of work and while in Communities we participate as good Corporate Citizens and as part of our engagement.
Harvey Developments is committed to the theory of increasing the employment of indigenous personnel and supporting indigenous initiatives in the Northern Territory by working closely with the local Indigenous employment groups and work toward an ongoing strategy for local engagement. We have been doing this since the company established in 2010. We regularly create job opportunities for Indigenous Youth in the community, giving them a chance to actively engage in construction works. We have seen this empower the young people on community with employable skills for future career enhancements and believe that this a great positive impact.
On top of this, we are also committed to the concept of local industry participation and the fostering of industry development in the Northern Territory. We always use local suppliers and subcontractors, we have no reason to consider outside NT.
We have developed good relationships not only with the local suppliers and subcontractors but most importantly with the communities we have worked for.
